Transferring Files From a Modern PC to an Old PC


The term "PC" here refers to members of the IBM Personal Computer family and the many clones of those.

Some methods:


Using an intermediate PC.     ( "tweener")

XTMax card in the vintage computer.

PicoMEM card in the vintage computer.

XT-CF card in the vintage computer.

8-bit ISA USB card in the vintage computer.     <-------------  Not straightforward.  Read the whole thread.

Using 3.5" diskettes.

Using Zip disks.

Using FastLynx 3.3 software.

Using LapLink software.     <-------------  Not as straightforward as you would think.  See here.

Using a CD-ROM Drive.
